Cleveland Browns star Tight End David Njoku returned to his hometown in Cedar Grove, New Jersey last weekend to host his first annual free youth football camp.

Working along side former teammates and coaches at Cedar Grove high school, David lead kids ages 7-15 through football fundamentals including, blocking, receiving, throwing, footwork and other skills.

When asked about the origins of the camp David had this to say:

“I definitely wanted to give back. Growing up in this town and playing high school football on this field, it was important to me to come back here and do a camp for the kids. I want to show them a few things and see a lot of smiles.”

Lots of smiles were unquestionably present as kids enjoyed lunch with David and got some free swag for attending.

During lunch, Njoku took some time to speak with press about the headline-grabbing offseason moves his team, the Cleveland Browns, made. The biggest among them included the acquisition of Pro-Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. from the New York Giants.

Referencing the signing of Beckham Jr., Njoku had this to say:

“He’s a great teammate and a great person. We all know what he brings to the table. He makes crazy plays and we’re excited to have him on the team. I actually knew him prior to him getting traded… same old dude.”

David is excited for what looks to be an optimistic season for the Cleveland Browns. Setting the bar high and smiling, David claimed he’s striving for a 20 touchdown season. With a string of new talented teammates and Rookie of The Year recipient Baker Mayfield under center, David’s goals may not be too far off.
